The College of Engineering Technology (CET) at Ferris State University invites applicants for a tenure track position in the discipline of Electronics and Automation Engineering Technology (EAET). This position combines relevant experience in electronics and automation for a new program in the School of Engineering and Computing Technology (SECT). The successful candidate is expected to develop and teach courses, as well as develop and teach labs primarily focused, but not limited to automation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs), digital logic and communication networks for automation systems as well as other courses in relevant technological areas. Successful Associate Dean candidates will have a significant leadership role in graduate-level clinical education with a substantial history of experience in curricular development and innovations, educational assessment, the latest trends in education and experience with accreditation standards. The Design Program has a long and successful history of preparing graduates for Design careers, excelling as Graphic Designers, Interaction Designers, UX Designers, Product Designers, and more. The program is uniquely situated in the College of Business and addresses the importance of communication, community, and business context. The selected candidate must be able to teach multiple subject areas within all levels of the design curriculum as well as courses serving non-design majors. Additionally, the selected candidate will excel in the areas of graphic design, brand identity design, and the creation of desirable and useful user experience, as well as work with digital design technology that meets the demands of the current professional design practice. Focus on student-centered learning, engage in a collaborative teaching environment, participate in the design community, and stress the importance of self-discovery, peer learning, and collaboration within the classroom.
