Advertised Salary: $10.33- $12.00  
Summary of Position: Want to fast track and improve your research skills while at KCAD? Come work as a library assistant at the KCAD Library. Working for the library you will: learn about a variety of library resources, how to use SmartSearch to locate materials in the library collections, how to process and circulate materials and how to work with library patrons (customer service skills). We will work around your class schedule when scheduling shifts.  
Position Requirements: Ability to work with computers and library oriented software/management systems. Ability to work with KCAD/FSU students, faculty, staff and guests at the circulation desk (customer service).

Library assistants will be fully trained on all library policies, procedures, software programs and systems. Assistants will also be trained on how to work with library patrons.

 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: KCAD Library Assistant responsibilities / work to include:
- Circulation desk duties: Patron assistance; checking library materials in & out; basic to mid-level
research assistance
- Sorting, organizing and shelving KCAD Library materials; shelf reading & straightening library stacks
- MeLCat duties to include: Processing & packaging MeLCat requests, sending & receiving MeLCat
deliveries
- Processing, shelving & straightening magazines & journals
- General maintenance of the library space: Dusting, cleaning, vacuuming, etc. as needed
- Special projects as needed /assigned - e.g. Periodical bindery, item analysis, archives organization,
display design, etc.
 
Number of Positions Available: 1 or 2
